The Transcultural Winter School is part of the annual Transcultural Student Research Groups. One important ambition the Transcultural Caravan pursues with these formats  is bringing together young and established researchers from different disciplinary and cultural backgrounds. After conducting their research, the  students participating at the TSRG, both from Zeppelin University and international participants, are welcomed to the Transcultural Winter School.

Until 2019, the Winter School was held at Zeppelin University. In 2020, due to the Corona virus travel restriction, the project assumed an online version. From 2021, a hybrid version is planned, due to the insecurity in terms of Covid-19 but first and foremost to foster the sustainability and inclusion of the project. In this way, the Winter School can reach a broader and international audience, despite their geographical localization and can reduce the costs, time and carbon foot-print connected to travels.

All these events provide the opportunity to continue the exchange on the current year´s topic. In this way, the Transcultural Winter School provides transcultural learning occasions, aiming to  expand the participants’ horizon and to prepare them for the challenges and potentials that leadership in a transcultural context entails. In workshop sessions, company visits and master classes, by attending the Transcultural Leadership Summit as well as by presenting their first research results together at the Transcultural Research Symposium, the groups take their collaboration further. In addition, external inputs from experts in the field bring new perspectives to the group, enrich the discussion and thereby enhance the learning experience of all participants. All these events provide transcultural learning occasions, aiming to expand the participants’ horizon and to prepare them for the challenges and potentials that leadership in a transcultural context entails.

After the Transcultural Winter School the students finalise their research. The final findings of each year’s Transcultural Student Research Groups are published in a volume of the Transcultural Management Series. Then, the Transcultural Learning Cycle starts again with the building of the new Transcultural Student Research Group, based on the topic of the past Transcultural Leadership Summit.
